As well as continuing to renovate the spare room, we just replaced a number of our old light fittings with new halogen type ones.  We have now entered the 21st century (not that they’re anything flash, we just got rid of our old dungers). We started making some modifications to our living room ceiling.  Those who know me will know what it is for, if you don’t know and want to know, EMail me.

We had a bit of an unexpected shower last week when our fill tank in the roof overflowed.  It dripped through the roof into out hallway.  I stopped it but I had to call a plumber the next day to replace the faulty valve on the level gauge.  It didn’t cause much damage but you can see where it happened so we will probably claim insurance for it.

There were a couple of birthdays around here recently.  I won’t tell you who’s they were as the people concerned might not want you to know.

Last night, NZ celebrated Guy FawkesGuy Fawkes Day is sort of the NZ equivalent of the 4th of July (in regards to fireworks anyway).  We celebrate a guy thousands of miles away trying to blow up someone else’s parliament five centuries ago.  Here are some pictures of the fireworks display over the Wellington Harbour that I went to last night. [1], [2], [3], [4], [5].  Is that Osama in the window…[6]?

I got a letter published in issue #13 Nov/Dec Tone magazine.  It is in regards to HDTV in NZ.  It seems we are being left behind other countries in regards to this.  No-one in NZ seems to even be thinking about it, let alone implementing it.
